Street Level is where you meet people in their element, in the places they live and play and connect with one another. Long have I loved exploring the historic downtowns where people congregate and share their stories of the day. I find that here on the street level of these wonderful towns is where memories are created and rekindled.
A few years back I was visiting one of my favorite Idaho towns, Ketchum in the Sun Valley area. I thought I might try something a little different and get just a bit creative. Seems that everyone has their favorite places when they travel somewhere, and the same goes for ourselves and for our friends Brian and Jenn, who just happen to love living in the Northwest and reveling in the outdoor playground that is prevalent here.
Walking around town, I began taking photos of our favorite spots, and theirs as well. What would a street look like, if it contained those favored gathering places where we shared the stories of the day - yet, without fences and borders? It might look something like the above images.
I am always looking for new towns to photograph and remind myself of all the good memories and wonderful people, (and amazing eateries) that I come across in our travels. These collections are memory treasure chests chock full of recollections of great people and wonderful experiences shared with friends along our journeys.
Personally, I recommend the 12x36, 15x45 or the 20x60 size for a larger room, either size printed on Metal (metal high-gloss or mid-gloss for a less reflective surface) with an inset frame float mounting.
